It just felt like it was all crammed together to get a quick and rushed ending.
There’s a sad ending and then there’s that bullshit. This anime was made in 2017, so I doubt they made or will ever make good on that “to be continued.” I’d be ashamed if this is how I ended one of my story’s. Probably as some sick “I wonder if they’ll do it” thing.

A really sick and twisted entity that even put that as a secret “here’s how to beat me,” thing. There has to be someone or something controlling this.
Honestly, this tells me that the King’s Game is not some supernatural virus like they thought. Meaning the message they pieced together WAS BULLSHIT. Not only because she could’ve went a more painless route (I mean she had the fucking chainsaw, she could’ve easily just cut her own throat with it if she didn’t want to jump off a cliff or something), but because she could have lived! She literally let everyone’s deaths go to waste!Īnd the worst part? The worst part IS IT WAS ALL FOR NOTHING! The after-credit’s scene showed that the King’s Game continued. Instead, she chooses to drag his corpse into the ocean and drown. Her phone reads the final message: Accept punishment or keep playing the King’s Game. She drags his corpse to the beach, kisses him, and begs him to open his eyes and kiss her back. I always end up forgetting their names, but whatever. He should’ve been able to live of she just applied pressure staunched the bleeding! I am so annoyed by his death.Īnd finally, his love interest. Only afterward he fucking TALKS! This is your windpipe, if she cut you deep enough to make you bleed out within a minute, you shouldn’t be able to talk! Your windpipe cannot withstand a RUNNING CHAINSAW! His death is such bullshit! They even show his wound later and it’s fucking LAUGHABLE! She barely cut through his neck! I get it, the artery is right where she cut him, but people have slit their throats to the point of destroying their voice box, from one end to the other, including where they should have severed both arteries, and survived. Thirdly, the mc’s death! Natsuko takes the chainsaw, magically manages to rev it despite having such a serious wound, and cuts him on the throat with it and he bleeds out and dies pretty quickly. What I can’t understand is how this lady was able to take a fucking chainsaw to the spine and still work up enough strength to kill the mc before the end! Her spinal cord should have been SEVERED! That wasn’t no measly cut, someone drove a running chinesaw into her spine with all their fucking might she should almost have a fucking hole in her torso! That manipulation combined with watching all your friends die horrific deaths would make becoming the person in the next game to do that to be pretty easy. Especially if said person is a manipulator who managed to manipulate you, in the end, into believing what they were doing was merciful. When someone is doing that your last game, and the person you love most dies trying to save you from them, it can twist your reasoning. I can’t say I would have too, but I get it. I even understand why she became the one trying to kill everyone this time. She was the love-struck girl left as the sole survivor last time. In her game there was a guy just like the mc, who filled everyone with hope. I’m not saying it needed to be a happy one, but still! It’s like they wanted to finish it up as fast as possible instead of make it a good ending. What I can’t accept is how the story handled the ending. That is the most unsatisfying ending EVER.įirst off, the letters each dead player gets eventually spell out that every participant needs to die or the King’s Game will never end until all of humanity is wiped out. I genuinely hope they make good on that “To Be Continued” because if not WHAT THE FUCK.
